SPIRITUAL PROGRAMS
-
This is how we describe our
programs with a content focused on the
historical past of the Peruvian Andes, where the
last culture to emerge before the arrival of the
Spanish developed: the Incas. We approach these
programs from a religious point of view, seeing
religious belief as an important component in
decision making, interpersonal relations and the
concept of the investiture of the Inca sovereign
himself. The high priest or “Willac Uma” is the
intermediary for the relationship between man,
the environment and the cosmos.
-
This approach is also reflected in
the interpretation of the archaeological remains
that were once population centres, temples, palaces,
public buildings. We base our interpretations on the
work of leading archaeologists and anthropologists.
This history still lives in the language of local
people, their rituals, and even the attitudes of
Andean culture - the behaviour of those who are the
jealous guardians of a culture little altered by
time and 500 years of European influence.
-
The visitor who has assimilated the
information imparted by the specialist guide, who
respects and identifies himself with the cultural
value of Andean religion, is then ready to
participate in an esoteric ceremony.
-
These ceremonies have suffered some
changes during the long process of cultural
development, having been to some degree assimilated
into Christian prayer in their original Quechua, but
they nevertheless retain a genuine Andean mysticism
and are made with great devotion in the belief that
they will propitiate good health, love and success
in business if the gods look favourably upon the
rituals. Faith can, after all, move mountains.
-
Cusco, that sacred city, is a
bio-energetic centre of great magnetic power, of
which Doctor Cecilia Paz Schieffer, a research
psychologist who for many years has studied the
region’s para-psychological phenomena says: “The
bio-energy of this place not only comes from Mother
Earth, but also from the Macro Cosmos”.
-
Scholars of quantum physics, theories
of electromagnetic fields and transpersonal
psychology have expressed their agreement with such
statements, and their adherence to the beliefs
expressed in such rituals.
